Roberts signs for Wycombe
Stuart Roberts passed a medical on Thursday
Stuart Roberts: An exciting attacking prospect
Swansea City's highly rated winger Stuart Roberts has completed his 100,000 move to Wycombe Wanderers.

The Wales under-21 international, who has been on a week-to-week contract this season, passed a medical at the Second Division club on Thursday and has signed for three years..

He will not be available to play at Bristol City on Saturday because the club still awaits international clearance from the Welsh Football Association.

Swansea will recoup a further 50,000 if Wycombe are promoted while Roberts is part of the squad, and have agreed a 15 percent sell-on clause.

Roberts told BBC Wales Sport: "I'm a sad to be leaving Swansea, but now I've got to give my best to Wycombe.

"It's a sad time for me to go with the club in turmoil, but they weren't prepared to offer me anything.

"As long as I'm given a chance, I think I'll do well here."

I'm sure it won't be long before we see him playing for the full Welsh side
Swansea manager Colin Addison

Swansea reluctantly accepted Wycombe's offer, with Swans manager Colin Addison stressing Roberts is "worth much more than that."

Addison told the club's website: "I've worked with many skilful players in England and Spain, and I'm telling you, this kid can go all the way.

"I wish him well, he's smashing kid. He's got the attitude, the desire, and he's got the ability.

"I'm sure it won't be long before we see him playing for the full Welsh side."

Roberts made 79 league appearances for Swansea, scoring eight goals.

  • Swansea striker Mamady Sidibe is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks after he sustained an ankle injury in Tuesday night's LDV Vans Trophy defeat against Brighton.
