Stoke youth team coach Adrian Pennock hopes Louis Moult will be the first of many youngsters from the club's academy to break into the first team.
Moult, 17, made his Premier League debut from the bench in the Potters' 1-1 draw at Burnley on Wednesday.
"Tony will play young players if they're good enough and they deserve a chance," Pennock told BBC Radio Stoke.
"The training facilities are improving and the first team is in the Premier League, so the future is bright."
Moult, who is the top scorer for Stoke's reserve team this season, also made two appearances as a substitute in the Potters' run to the fourth round of the Carling Cup.
Young midfielder Matty Lund was an unused sub at Turf Moor, while Ben Marshall and Nathaniel Wedderburn have also been on the verge of the first-team squad.
"Everyone is sitting up and taking note of Stoke, so there is a knock-on effect all the way through to the youth team, and long may that continue," added Pennock.
