Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen wants to stay at Stoke City

Denmark goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has pledged his future to Stoke City, despite rumours linking him with a move to German giants Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old, who played in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday, told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm fully committed to Stoke and I'm not going anywhere.

"I had two meetings with the manager [Tony Pulis] last week and I gave him my word that I wasn't going anywhere."

Stoke pulled out of a move for England keeper David James on Friday.

Sorensen, who signed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the Potters in November, claimed he had been "stitched up" by the press in Denmark, following an interview he gave to them earlier this month.

"There's been a lot of rubbish that's been said, the Danish press have stitched me up big time," said Sorensen. "And all the rumours they're still spreading, it's just shocking, so I think I've finished speaking to them.

"It's all rubbish and I'm really annoyed about it because I'm fully committed to the club, and then all this comes out and it puts a strain on everyone.

"If you read the original interview, I said I wanted to stay at Stoke and all the other things weren't on my mind, I just wanted to do well here.

"Someone has twisted that and made it into something else. It's just shocking."

Sorensen has been first-choice goalkeeper at the Britannia Stadium since joining Stoke on a free transfer from Aston Villa in July 2008.
