I'm back to my best - Etherington

Stoke City winger Matthew Etherington believes he is finally starting to show his best form, nine months after joining the club from West Ham United.

The 28-year-old scored his first Premier League goal for the Potters in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Wolves.

"I've enjoyed it here from day one, but I think my form definitely has gone up a couple of notches in the last few games," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I'm happy with how things are going, we've been doing really well lately."

The former Spurs man added: "I caught the volley really sweetly and I'm just disappointed it wasn't enough to win the game."

Etherington's strike came after a George Elokobi own goal to give Stoke a 2-0 half-time lead at the Britannia Stadium, only for Wolves to snatch a point thanks to two goals from Jody Craddock.

"At 2-0 up, we should be seeing games like that out. We usually do," said Etherington.

"We're disappointed and it feels like a defeat. For some reason, we've let in two sloppy goals."
