Support is fantastic, says Pulis

Pulis has never been relegated in his career as a manager

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has said the support of the Potters fans is "fantastic" following the 1-0 win over Sunderland on Wednesday.

A Ricardo Fuller header sealed the points for the Potters and lifted them to 15th in the Premier League table.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "If we're going to be successful the supporters have to play their part and they realise that.

"They know how much we need them and they were fantastic again."

City have now taken 10 points from their opening 10 league fixtures, recording three victories and a draw, however they are yet to win away from the Britannia Stadium.

"I sat next to [Manchester United boss] Sir Alex Ferguson at an awards dinner the other night," said Pulis.

"He told me the most important thing is to keep your head and know that you can win two games and jump up four or five places in this league.

"We haven't got to get down or get depressed with not picking up points that maybe we should have."

Arsenal visit the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, a fixture that Pulis said he is determined to enjoy.

"Arsene Wenger has given the club a real identity of having the best young players.

"It's a game for everyone to enjoy and we'll be giving it our best shot."

And Pulis also said he is coming to terms with the pressures of being a Premier League manager.

"I don't enjoy losing.

"It's difficult to accept that you're going to lose more games than you win, but if I can't handle that what chance have we got?"
