Stoke City defender Gabriel Zakuani has been fined £240 and awarded six penalty points after being found guilty of driving without insurance.
North Staffordshire Magistrates also ordered the 21-year-old, who is on loan from Fulham, to pay £50 costs.
City chief executive Tony Scholes told BBC Radio Stoke: "Footballers aren't saints. I'm sure many of our fans have committed driving offences."
Zakuani was named among the substitutes for Saturday's victory over Cardiff.
