Stoke City's on-loan defender Stephen Wright has been recalled to parent club Sunderland after his deal expired.
The 27-year-old had only just returned for Stoke after weeks out with a head injury when Sunderland boss Roy Keane called him back to the North East.
Potters boss Tony Pulis said: "It's a shame but you can understand Keane's decision.
"We just want to thank Stephen for his effort and commitment, he's a smashing lad and we'll miss him."
