Stoke City have signed Southampton's 20-year-old utility player Kenwyne Jones on a one-month loan deal.

"He's a bright young player with a lot of pace and promise and did very well while at Sheffield Wednesday," said Stoke director of football John Rudge.

"Now we want to see whether he is capable of taking that next step up and doing as well in the Championship."

Jones hit seven goals in seven games playing up front on loan at Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the season.
