Stoke City forward Chris Iwelumo has agreed a move to Brighton.
Seagulls boss Mark McGhee has clinched a deal to sign Iwelumo for the rest of the season.
Iwelumo, who began his career at St Mirren, has not featured for Stoke's first-team since January and has been allowed to move on.
The 25-year-old has had loan spells with Cheltenham and York City since joining Stoke from Preston for £25,000 in February 2000.
McGhee told BBC SCR: "He has physical presence and strength.
"We hope he's the type of player to build play and allow us to get forward a la Trevor Benjamin.
"He's been brought in to earn himself a contract."
