Gerrard joins Ablett at Stockport

Gerard spent eight years at Everton before joining Nottingham Forest

Paul Gerrard has joined League One side Stockport County as goalkeeping coach.

The 36-year-old becomes new manager Gary Ablett's second addition to his staff following the appointment of fitness coach Steve Jones.

Gerrard, whose last club was Sheffield United, will also act as understudy to Owain Fon Williams at Edgeley Park.

After making his Premier League debut for Oldham at the age of 19, Gerrard moved to Everton for £1m in 1996 has made over 350 career appearances.
