Stevenage manager Graham Westley in talks over future

Graham Westley
Westley has made two Wembley finals in two years at Stevenage

Stevenage boss Graham Westley will discuss his future and that of his players with club chairman Phil Wallace this week.

Westley's contract ends next month and his future is undecided after taking the club into the Football League.

He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I have got to talk to the chairman about my own situation first and foremost.

"I am meeting him this week and that should put me in the position to get the players' position sorted out."

Most of the Blue Square champions' squad are also out of contract in June.

Westley said: "There are a lot of out-of-contract players that need to speak to the football club.

"I'll speak to the lads Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so they are all clear about where things are going.

"They have worked really hard for the football club this year and they deserve that."

Stevenage missed out on a league and FA Trophy double when they lost in extra time at Wembley to Barrow on Saturday.

Westley said: "The boys have been tremendous. They have forged themselves into a fantastic team, put in some great performances and got some fantastic results.

"They have over-achieved in terms of resources available to us and resources available to others.

"There are some big clubs that have tried to win this league, the likes of Oxford and Luton who have had the pick of players and these boys haven't had all the advantages that they have got.

"They haven't used those as excuses. They have got on with the job and what a fantastic achievement they have put together."
