Stevenage Borough manager Graham Westley has won the race to sign former Charlton midfielder Stacy Long.
The 24-year-old becomes the club's fifth signing of the summer.
Long was released by Ebbsfleet at the end of the past season, but had caught the eye of Westley with a string of fine performances.
He started his career at Charlton before moving to Notts County and he helped Ebbsfleet to victory in the FA Trophy in 2008.
Meanwhile, Stevenage have confirmed their pre-season friendly programme.
Former players George Boyd and Steve Morison look set to return with their current clubs, Peterborough and Millwall, while Brighton and Southend will also visit the Lamex Stadium.
