MacPherson rues skeleton squad

Gus MacPherson
MacPherson could only name six players on the bench for Saturday's match with Hamilton

Gus MacPherson lamented the size of St Mirren's squad after only being able to name six players on the bench on Saturday against Hamilton.

The Accies ended the Paisley side's four-game unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at St Mirren Park.

"It's a problem. We've got a small squad, but we've just got to deal with it," said MacPherson.

"When you get injuries, you run out of options. The players who were there were the players who were fit."

Until Saturday's defeat, St Mirren had scored 11 goals in their last four matches.

However, MacPherson's side were reduced to 10 men against Billy Reid's side when Lee Mair was shown a straight red card for a last-man challenge on Mickael Antoine-Curier.
