St Mirren have signed goalkeeper Paul Mathers from East Fife as a player-coach on a two-year contract.
Paul Mathers signed for East Fife in June
He will provide coaching and back-up for Chris Smith and Mark Howard after Craig Hinchcliffe's recent departure.
Buddies manager Gus MacPherson told his club website: "Paul has primarily came to the club on a coaching capacity.
"We feel we have two excellent young goalkeepers and they need a wee bit of guidance," he said. "A position we had been looking to fill for some time."
Mathers had only joined East Fife in June after rejecting the offer of a new contract from First Division newcomers Morton.
The 37-year-old numbers Falkirk, Dundee and Peterhead among his former clubs.
Meanwhile, former Notts County striker Tcham N'Toya will be given another chance to impress after scoring as a trialist.
"We gave Tcham a run-out against Rangers reserves on Tuesday," said MacPherson.
"We've got to make the decision of if he is better than the players we already have in that position.
"So, to do that, we'll be having another look at him."
Former Arsenal central defender Joe O'Cearuill is also still on trial with the Scottish Premier League club.
