MacPherson is confident his team can avoid relegation to Division One

St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson paid full tribute to his players who earned three precious points at Dundee United.
Speaking to BBC Sport after their 2-0 win, he said: "The team are exhausted physically and mentally, but they are a credit to the club after that display.
"We put United under constant pressure and Stewart Kean could have wrapped up the game with his second half penalty.
"However, it looks like the relegation battle will go right to the end, but I'm convinced we'll do our very best."
The Paisley outfit were dominant throughout, following the early sending off of Tangerines' striker Noel Hunt.
Kirk Broadfoot netted with two minutes remaining, after Hugh Murray put Saints in front in the 24th minute, with Craig Levein's men labouring in front of their home fans.
Kean saw his 64th minute spot kick saved by Derek Stillie, but the Buddies were worthy of their win.
And a happy MacPherson added: "I have a very conscientious squad of players here.
"But we'll have to keep working away right until the end of the season, because of Dunfermline's recent run of results."
