Veteran defender Kevin McGowne is to leave St Mirren at the end of the season to become player-assistant manager at Third Division Montrose.

The 37-year-old joined the Scottish Premier League outfit in 2003 from Partick Thistle.
Montrose manager Jim Weir said: "I've known Kevin for a long time, ever since I joined St Johnstone 13 years ago.
"We played together there for a couple of years and when he moved to Kilmarnock we remained good friends."
McGowne, who also has top-flight experience with Dundee United and Kilmarnock, was a regular in the St Mirren side until January.
"Kevin still has plently to offer us in a playing sense," added Weir.
"He was terrific for St Mirren earlier in the season although he hasn't been in the team laterly."
