MacPherson had enjoyed a good start to the SPL season

St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson hit out at the performance of referee Iain Brines, as Dundee United sunk his side 3-1 at Love Street.
MacPherson said Brines ignored penalty claims, particularly an Alan Archibald challenge on Stewart Kean, in a game where Saints struggled throughout.
"For me, the one in the second half was a stone-wall penalty - it was a strange one to say the least," he said.
"The referees are the untouchables so there's no point in talking to them."
United's win ended St Mirren's bright start to their first season back in the SPL, and MacPherson admitted his team let him down.
"We didn't deserve anything today - we were sloppy at the back and that's not like us at all.
"You can't make basic defensive mistakes when you're up against SPL sides and we were punished by a good team."
