McInnes signs Arvydas Novikovas on loan as two depart

Winger Arvydas Novikovas has moved from Hearts to St Johnstone on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Lithuanian international joined the Tynecastle club in September 2008 and made his debut for the Jambos in May 2009.

The deal he signed with Jim Jefferies' side last year was intended to keep him at the club until 2013.

But with Andy Driver regaining fitness, Novikovas has signed for the Perth Saints to push for first-team football.

Meanwhile, strikers Steven Milne and Scott Dobie have left McDiarmid Park.

Milne departed the club by mutual consent to facilitate a move to Ross County, but Dobie's move is not permanent: he has moved on loan to Bradford City until the summer.

"We have been working hard behind the scenes to try to freshen up the squad and we will be looking to bring people in even after the transfer window closes," said St Johnstone manager Derek McInnes.

"There will be quite a few players who have been paid up and who will be available to sign."
