St Johnstone seal Daal transfer
Dyron Daal
Daal has joined Saints instead of moving to the United States
First Division club St Johnstone have signed striker Dyron Daal after the Dutchman was released by Aberdeen.

Daal had been planning to move to the United States to continue his career but instead opted to move to McDiarmid Park to join Owen Coyle's side.

The 23-year-old joined Aberdeen on amateur terms last year but failed to break into the first-team at Pittodrie.

The 6ft 4in striker replaces Trinidad and Tobago international Jason Scotland, who has joined Swansea.

Saints first-team coach Sandy Stewart told the club website: "His height will do no harm, but it doesn't signal that we are intending to change the way we play.

"He likes and is comfortable with the ball on the ground and our style of football will suit him in that respect, plus he has a bit of pace as well."

Daal is a product of the youth system at Ajax and had a short spell at Utrecht before a move to Scotland in August, when he joined Aberdeen.

He netted twice for the Dons in his one start and six appearances as a substitute before moving on loan to Dundee.

Daal scored five goals from seven starts for the First Division club, including braces against Airdrie United and Ross County in April.
