The 28-year-old, who has won eight senior caps for New Zealand, had impressed on trial for the Perth club.
Paston spent a season with Bradford, making 14 appearances, before moving to Walsall in the summer of 2004.
He left English League One outfit Walsall in February after eight months and 12 appearances and also recently had a trial for Rotherham.
