Southend have completed the signing of former Brentford midfielder Jamie Fullarton on a one-year contract.
Fullarton could not agree a new deal with Brentford
The 28-year old passed a medical on Monday after agreeing personal terms and was delighted to put pen-to-paper with the Roots Hall outfit.
"I had a meeting with Steve Wignall (manager) and Stewart Robson (coach) last week and the impression they made on me swung it really," Fullarton said.
"I had been made two or three other concrete offers and I have to say that it didn't come down to a financial decision, it was the way they do things here.
"The way they are both running the club and the ambition they both have when it comes to moving the club forward really stuck with me.
"Hopefully I can be a good addition to the squad and help strengthen it," he told the club's official website.
The former Crystal Palace and Dundee United player becomes the sixth sumer signing for Shrimpers boss Wignall.
