Southampton's Adam Lallana ruled out for six weeks

Lallana has scored twice for Saints this season

Southampton winger Adam Lallana will be sidelined for six weeks after an operation on his injured knee.

The former England Under-21 missed most of pre-season with the same problem.

Saints caretaker Boss Dean Wilkins told BBC Radio Solent: "You can't underestimate the influence he has on the team, he'll be a big loss to us."

Lallana scored 20 goals last season as Southampton just missed the League One play-offs, despite suffering a ten point penalty.
