Southampton sign midfielder Gasmi

Gasmi is currently recovering from a broken foot

Southampton have signed midfielder Romain Gasmi from French side RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old, who can also play as a striker, joins former Strasbourg team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin, who made the switch to Southampton back in June.

Gasmi is currently recovering from a broken foot and will remain in France while he is recuperating.

The signing of Gasmi follows the arrival of another midfielder, Anthony Pulis from Stoke, last week.
