Le Tissier was voted Saints all-time cult hero by BBC viewers

Former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier will return to the club this week to help out with training-ground drills.

The midfielder, christened 'Le God' by Saints fans, will arrive on Thursday ahead of the Claus Lundekvam testimonial match against Celtic.

Southampton head coach Jan Poortvliet told BBC Radio Solent: "Matt Le Tissier will be here on Thursday morning.

"We have to practice set pieces and he can give some examples to the boys. I'm looking forward to seeing that."

Le Tissier, who retired in 2002, is held in such high esteem that discussions have taken place to re-name Southampton airport after him.

Saints take on Salisbury in their latest warm-up match on Tuesday night.
