Former chairmen Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde have returned to the Southampton board after being appointed directors of Southampton Leisure Holdings plc.
Their return, to the club's parent company, was confirmed in a statement to the stock exchange following the resignation of chairman Leon Crouch.
Directors Patrick Trant, Keith Wiseman and chief executive Lee Hoos also quit.
The changes mean that Friday's extraordinary general meeting on Friday will not go ahead.
Lowe and Wilde are likely to oversee a range of money-saving policies at St Mary's, believing only swift action will prevent the club, who only secured their Championship status on the last day of the season, going into administration.
Lowe and Wilde will also be joined in the boardroom by former managing director Andrew Cowen.
