Shrewsbury Town winger Jon Taylor has decided to stay at the League Two club despite initially rejecting an offer.

Shrews' manager Graham Turner held emergency talks with the 18-year-old who has now signed a two-year deal at the Greenhous Meadow.

Taylor had been linked with Scottish sides Motherwell and Aberdeen.

Turner told the club website: "Jon made a real impact last season when he broke into the first team and got four goals in three games."

Meanwhile, midfielder Steve Leslie is yet to contact the club regarding his offer.

The 23-year-old, who has made over 100 appearances for Shrewsbury since joining in 2006, spent the end of last season on loan at Hereford United.
