Shrewsbury set to lose Langmead and Dunfield

Shrewsbury Town look set to lose defender Kelvin Langmead and Canadian midfielder Terry Dunfield.

Town say they have agreed a fee with Peterborough United and that Langmead is in final talks with the club.

"In a meeting with the chairman, Kelvin Langmead strongly expressed a desire to move on and play at a higher level," said a club statement.

Langmead, 25, joined Shrewsbury in 2004 as a striker, converting to centre half in 2006. He has made 227 appearances.

Dunfield is also set to leave the Greenhous Meadow, much to the annoyance of new manager Graham Turner.

"He has been away on international duty with Canada, during which time the international manager apparently told him that to be considered for further recognition he needed to be playing at a higher level," Turner told the club website.

"I was far from happy with the player basically implying League Two football was not good enough for him."

Turner is already looking for replacements as he strengthens his squad ready for pre-season training.
