Darran Kempson - scored Carling Cup winner against Colchester last season
Shrewsbury defender Darran Kempson has joined Wrexham after signing a two-year deal with Brian Little's side.
He is the seventh player to be taken on by the Wrexham manager to bolster the Reds' attempts at an immediate return to League Two.
Kempson (23) stayed at home while the rest of the Shrewsbury squad took off for a week's training in Spain.
He had been told he could move on after Shrews boss Paul Simpson said he was not part of his immediate plans.
Kempson never became an established first choice at Shrewsbury, with the highlight of his time at the club the goal that knocked Championship side Colchester out of the Carling Cup last year.
Towards the end of last season he was loaned out to Accrington Stanley, who decided not to pursue any further interest in Kempson over the summer.
