Shrews will not receive money for Hart's appearance against Trinidad
Shrewsbury Town have announced they will not be receiving £500,000 from Manchester City for Joe Hart's England appearance against Trinidad & Tobago.
Former Shrews goalkeeper Joe Hart played 45 minutes in England's 3-0 victory in Trinidad in June.
But Shrewsbury say the windfall payment will not be activated until Hart makes his full competitive international appearance in the starting line-up.
The club have already received an upfront payment from Manchester City.
Shrewsbury chairman Roland Wycherley told the club website: "I thought it eminently sensible to contact Manchester City to discuss Joe's appearance as there had been a lot of changes there and sometimes interpretations can differ - as Fifa's debate about status of the same game highlights.
"In the event, everyone's interpretation is the same, so we will need to continue watching England selections with extra interest," Wycherley added.
"At a time when we are busily negotiating transfers in and out of the club, it's also important to ensure that players and agents don't get a misleading view of our resources."
