Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters has handed young ex-Blackburn defender Luke Jones a new deal which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2008.
Jones, 19, has made five appearances since joining the Shrews in November.
"When he came, I said once he'd proved to me he could play in the first team then I'd give him a contract for next year," Peters told the club website.
"He's a young lad who is a solid individual and is a defender who loves defending," he added.
