Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters looks set to allow defender Richard Hope to retain the captain's armband.
The 28-year-old took over as skipper last season when club captain Kevin Sharp lost his place to Neil Ashton.
Stewart Drummond is among several new signings expected to compete for the captain's role but Peters says he is happy with the current incumbent.
"Richard Hope is the player in situ and I don't see any reason to change that," Peters told the Shropshire Star.
