Sheff Wed announce 1.5m profit
Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have announced that the club made a profit for the first time since 1995 in the annual accounts for the year ending 31 May 2007.

The Owls announced a profit of just under 1.5m, compared to a loss of 457,000 for the previous year.

They made an operating loss of 81,000, but enjoyed a profit of 2.4m on player trading, such as Majid Bougherra's 2.5m move to Charlton in January.

Turnover for the 12-month spell also rose by 5.33% to 12.232m.

Meanwhile, payroll costs rose by 11.12% to 6.297m.
