Sheffield Wednesday are set to complete the loan signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Mark Wilson.

The former Manchester United man will join the Owls for a month before their game against Peterborough on Saturday.

"Mark is a ball-playing midfielder who likes to pass it around," said Wednesday boss Chris Turner.

"With the loss of Robbie Mustoe and Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu the priority of recruiting a centre-half waned and I felt this was the better use of a loan," Turner told his club's website.

Wilson, 24, has started just 12 games for Boro since joining them for 1.5m from United in August, 2001 and has had previous loan spells at Stoke and Swansea.
