Burrows extends Owls' contract
Burrows left Birmingham City in March
Sheffield Wednesday defender David Burrows has signed a one-year deal to remain at Hillsborough for the forthcoming season.
The 33-year-old former Liverpool left-back joined the Owls for the final three months of last season on a short-term contract from Birmingham City. But his performances have impressed manager Terry Yorath, who saw his side lose only two of the eight matches in which Burrows was involved, and the defender will stay for at least another year. "The club is looking to have a much better season next year, and if I can contribute to that I'll be extremely happy," said Burrows. "It's important to the Club and to everyone here that we make progress in the right direction next season. I'm looking forward to the challenge." Burrows has made more than 450 senior appearances in his career in spells at West Bromwich Albion, West Ham and Coventry as well as Liverpool.
