Riise and Vokes could both feature for Blades against Reading on Tuesday
Championship strugglers Sheffield United have made two emergency loan signings in a day as they battle to beat the drop to League One.
Norwegian international Bjorn Helge Riise, 27, has signed from Fulham for the rest of the season.
And he has now been joined at Bramall Lane by Wolves striker Sam Vokes, 21, who moves on a 33-day loan.
Both players have been signed in time to play in Tuesday's home game against Reading (1945 GMT).
Welsh international Vokes, signed by Mick McCarthy from Bournemouth in May 2008, could be available for the Blades' next eight games.
His loan is due to finish on 19 March with the Yorkshire derby against his former Leeds United, where he spent three months on loan two seasons ago.
He has already been out on loan this season with Bristol City, but made just one substitute appearance - and has not scored a goal since his time with Leeds in October 2009.
He is Blades boss Micky Adams' seventh signing since taking charge on 30 December, following Neill Collins, Michael Doyle and loan men Joe Mattock, Shane Lowry, Marcus Bent and fellow new signing Riise.
The 27-year-old midfielder, the brother of former Liverpool player John Arne Riise, joined Fulham in July 2009.
But, since Mark Hughes succeeded Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage this summer, he has struggled for first team football.
Riise was advised by Norwegian national team boss Egil Olsen to find regular first team football elsewhere.
Riise, who has played 27 times for Norway, and Vokes join a Blades side sitting 22nd in the Championship, three points adrift of safety.
Adams is still looking for his first win after eight matches in charge.
