Sheffield United have signed Stoke City goalkeeper Steve Simonsen on a month-long loan deal.
The 30-year-old goes straight into the Blades squad for Saturday's derby game against Doncaster Rovers.
Manager Kevin Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I wanted a recognised number one and Simonsen's done a good job at Stoke.
"We tried three or four other places and we're delighted to get a Premier League goalkeeper."
Blackwell was in the market for a goalkeeper after loanee Mark Bunn was recalled by Blackburn Rovers this week.
