Blackwell demands Kilgallon focus

Matt Kilgallon
Kilgallon has made over 100 appearances for the Blades

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has said that Matt Kilgallon should not allow himself to be distracted by speculation over his future.

The 25-year-old defender, who is in the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane, has been linked with Bolton, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United.

Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield: "There's been speculation this week about four or five clubs in for him.

"Matt's got to deal with that. What will happen, will happen in January."

Kilgallon joined the Blades from Leeds United in January 2007 for £1.75m.
