Naughton has been linked to Aston Villa and Manchester City
Sheffield United defender Kyle Naughton has been called into the England Under-21 squad for Tuesday's friendly against Czech Republic at Bramall Lane.
The full-back, 20, has not been in the squad before and had been a target for the Republic of Ireland.
He has been linked to top-flight clubs despite making just nine Blades starts.
"He is an exciting player and worth his place in the squad. Now it's up to him to get in the team," Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce told BBC Radio Sheffield.
Naughton had a loan spell at Gretna in the Scottish Premier League last season.
Leeds United midfielder Fabian Delph, 18, has also been included in the squad for the first time.
Norwich's Ryan Bertrand, Wolves pair Richard Stearman and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Chelsea's Jack Cork and Southampton's Adam Lallana are the other players looking for their Under-21 debuts.
