McCall signs for Blades

McCall brings with him a wealth of experience

Former Scotland international Stuart McCall has completed a move to First Division Sheffield United.

The veteran midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal to become player-coach at Bramall Lane after not being offered a new contract at cash-strapped Bradford City.

McCall, who has had spells at Everton, Glasgow Rangers and Bradford (twice), makes the switch on a free transfer after his contract with the Bantams expired.

"This is a big challenge for me and one I'm really looking forward to," he told the club's official website.

"I may be 38, but I'm still keen and ambitious and, whilst my body and fitness allows me, I think I can do a good job."
