Scunthorpe United boss still keen on Oldham's Taylor

Chris Taylor
Scunthorpe had a bid for Taylor turned down by Oldham in January

Scunthorpe United manager Ian Baraclough says he is still interested in signing Chris Taylor, if the Oldham winger becomes available.

The Championship side had a transfer bid for Taylor rejected in January.

Baraclough told BBC Radio Humberside: "You just don't go off a player and we put in a very, very good offer then.

"I suppose people will put two and two together that they [Oldham] couldn't pay their players last week. But it doesn't mean they want to let him go."

Scunthorpe are searching for a replacement for Martyn Woolford who left Glanford Park for Bristol City in January, with Taylor earmarked as a possible candidate.

But Baraclough added: "Unless I'm told differently he remains an Oldham player and they want to keep him because they're still in or around the play-offs."
