Scarborough's double swoop
Scarborough manager Russell Slade has completed a twin transfer swoop to add a wealth of Nationwide League experience to his side.

Slade has snapped up former Tranmere, Sheffield United and Oldham midfielder Nick Henry on a free transfer following his departure from Prenton Park.

And he has also signed ex-Southampton and Birmingham City central defender Richard Dryden after he left Luton Town.

Thirty-three-year-old Dryden spent a month on loan with the Seasiders last season.

And Henry, who made 48 appearances for Tranmere last season, has no qualms about moving from Division Two into the Nationwide Conference as Scarborough bid to mount a promotion challenge.

He said: "I had other offers but I enjoyed working with Russ and I see no reason why it shouldn't be just one season in the Conference for me before we can get back into the Football League."

Henry, 33, who has started over 450 senior games in his career, previously worked with Slade at Sheffield United, while Dryden is also well know to the Scarborough boss from their time together at Notts County in the early 1990s and his short stay at the McCain Stadium at the turn of the year.

Boro are still hoping to sign former Wycombe and Reading striker Keith Scott after his release by Dover.
