Slade begins striker hunt
Scarborough manager Russell Slade is on the look-out for a big striker to replace Darryn Stamp.
Former Scunthorpe frontman Stamp, who scored 14 goals last season, has joined Northampton Town on a two-year deal. Scarborough will find out how much they will receive for the 23-year-old at a transfer tribunal on 24 June. And Slade plans to dip into his budget to fill the gap left by Stamp's departure. He said: "Darryn will admit that we helped to get his career back on track and with his scoring record of 14 goals in just over 30 games he was an asset which I will be looking to replace. "It's also no secret that I shall be looking for a big target man. "We have Neil Campbell and Anthony Ormerod, but a big man to replace Darryn is one thing that is definitely on my shopping list - although there are others as well."
