Short aims to resurrect career
Chris Short is trying to earn a deal with Scarborough
Defender Chris Short hopes to be given a chance to kick-start his career by earning a contract with Scarborough.
Short began his league career with the Seasiders before moving to Notts County for £240,000 in 1990. He is now back at the McCain Stadium, along with a number of other trialists, looking to impress manager Neil Thompson enough to be offered terms. Short had spells with Sheffield United and Stoke City last season but struggled with injury and illness. It was thought he had retired from the game, but the 31-year-old now hopes to make a comeback. Thompson said: "He is a good player, you can't buy his experience. He is feeling a lot stronger now and wants to give it another go."
