Salisbury sign Luton midfielder

Rob Sinclair
Sinclair is the first new signing of the summer for Salisbury

Salisbury City boss Nick Holmes hopes that new signing Rob Sinclair will play a major role in the team next season.

The 18-year-old midfielder has agreed a two-year deal with the Whites after being released by Luton.

Holmes told BBC Radio Wiltshire the youngster was very impressive during his 10-week loan spell at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium last season.

"Hopefully he'll play a massive part," said Holmes. "He gets around the pitch well and has an eye for scoring goals."

Sinclair, who will officially sign on 1 July, scored just once in his 16 Blue Square Premier appearances following his arrival on loan from Kenilworth Road in February.

"If anything, he thinks that was the thing that let him down while he was here," said Holmes. "He missed a few chances but hopefully he can put that right next season."

Holmes also reveals that he is keeping an eye on another former loan signing from Luton, Ed Asafu-Adjaye.

"We're just keeping our ears open as to what's going on," said Holmes. "We do know that Luton have offered him a contract."
