Rushden and Diamonds hit by Conference charge

Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden & Diamonds have been charged by the Football Conference for allegedly submitting inaccurate information in their quarterly financial reports.

After being charged on 9 March the club has until 23 March to respond and is likely to request a hearing.

Any hearing would be conducted by independent members of the league, at a date to be confirmed.

Kidderminster and Histon suffered five-point deductions after being found guilty of similar charges in January.

The Conference's Financial Reporting Initiative, introduced in 2009, demands Blue Square Bet Premier, North and South clubs submit quarterly financial reports for assessment by the league.

Rushden were bought by Gary Calder and Liam Beasant in December, with Beasant becoming chairman on 3 March after Calder's resignation.

Meanwhile, Scunthorpe striker Paris Cowan-Hall has extended his loan spell at Nene Park until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who is currently sidelined for about 10 days by an ankle ligament injury, has scored once in two appearances for Rushden.
