Gary Calder quits as Rushden & Diamonds chairman

Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden & Diamonds chairman Gary Calder has quit his position at the club, with vice president Liam Beasant stepping up to the role.

Calder arrived at Nene Park in early December to succeed outgoing chairman Keith Cousins.

It is unclear whether the former Weymouth chief executive has sold his share in the club.

A brief club statement read: "Chairman Gary Calder has resigned from the Football Club with immediate effect."

It continued: "Liam Beasant takes over as chairman with Steve Beasant coming in as CEO.

"Calder wishes the club all the very best in the future and in their quest to get back into the Football League."
