Roberts targets 20 clean sheets

Rushden and Diamonds goalkeeper Dale Roberts has set himself a target of 20 clean sheets in the forthcoming Blue Square Premier campaign.

Roberts told BBC Radio Northampton: "I just want to get promoted with the Diamonds next season.

"And if I manage those clean sheets we'll definitely be up there with the rest of the teams at the top."

The 22-year-old had two loan spells at Nene Park before signing from Nottingham Forest in January.

He added: "I think we've got a young squad and a couple of experienced players,"

"The play-offs are the main aim, but it would be fantastic to get automatic promotion."

Roberts' performances last season earned him a call-up for the England C team in their 4-0 win over Malta.
