Harford plans 'wholesale changes'
Paul Warne
Rotherham boss Mick Harford has decided not to offer new contracts to striker Paul Warne, defender Rob Scott and midfielder Darren Garner.

Garner, 33, is on loan at Torquay while Warne and Scott, both 31, are wanted by ex-Millers boss Ronnie Moore at Oldham.

But keeper Gary Montgomery has been offered a new deal, and midfielder Andy Monkhouse's future will be decided once his injury situation becomes clear.

"I want to make wholesale changes," Harford told the club website.

"As far as the rest of the squad who are still under contract are concerned, I have told the majority of them that they can leave the club if they can find another one and improve themselves.

"We need to rebuild the squad for next season with some younger players."

Harford was appointed as manager in April but was unable to prevent the Millers' relegation to League One after they had propped up the Championship table all season.

Warne has scored 28 goals in 232 League appearances for the Millers since joining them from Wigan in 1999, and had a spell on loan at Mansfield earlier this season.

Ex-Fulham defender Scott has played exactly 200 senior games for the Yorkshire outfit, while Garner is the longest-serving of the released trio - having had 265 League outings in 10 years at Millmoor.
