Ross County president Roy MacGregor is returning to the post of chairman, replacing Dave Siegel, who stepped down at the end of last season.

MacGregor has served several spells as chairman during his long association with the Dingwall club.

He said: "I relish the challenges ahead as we work towards taking the club to the next level."

First Division County enjoyed a successful 2009/10 campaign in which they reached the Scottish Cup final.

The Ross-shire businessman's appointment was confirmed at a meeting of the club's board last week, when long-serving board member Gordon MacRae was appointed honorary vice-president after stepping down from the post of vice-chairman.

"I would like to thank Dave for all his hard work during his spell as chairman," added MacGregor.

"I would also like to pay the warmest tribute to Gordon for his fantastic service to the club as vice-chairman.

"We are delighted that he will continue his close association with Ross County as a director and in his new role as vice-president."

County manager Derek Adams guided the former Highland League club to a fifth-place finish in the First Division last season, when they had been challenging for the title until the last few weeks of the campaign.

Their Cup final date at Hampden, where they were backed by 17,000 supporters, ended in disappointment when they lost 3-0 to Dundee United.
