Ross County have confirmed that their 17-year-old midfielder, Gary Mackay Steven, has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Liverpool.
Reports suggest that the Scottish First Division club will receive a six-figure sum as compensation.
A statement on the County website said: "Gary will head for the Anfield club's prestigious academy at the end of the English season.
"We look forward to seeing him light up the Premiership in the coming years."
Steven has yet to break into the Dingwall club's first-team, presently playing for the under-19 side, but impressed during a trial with Liverpool.
"Gary has always been willing to put in the hard work and training to go alongside his exceptional natural skill," added the statement.
County state that 16-year-old right-back Graham Girvan recently had a successful trial with Bolton Wanderers.
And two other members of their under-19 squad are heading for trials with Celtic.
